Pitching social intelligence against other research methods
Working with social data is tricky. It’s not like any other data source, ever.
There’s a tendency to try and place social data into existing frameworks and ideals of other research sources – but it just doesn’t fit.
This brings about questions and concerns over the reliability and representativity of social data as a research method. People can find it hard to overcome these barriers when working to get organizational buy-in. So, we’re asking our expert panel to talk about the comparisons between social data and other research methods. We’ll explore:
1. The differences in social data to other research methods.
2. What analysts need to know about social data.
3. Where does social data fit?
4. How can it be combined with other research methods?
This was a lively debate with a lot of value from all panelists.
