What does social intelligence mean to you?
Networking with shared communities in digital spaces is a powerful modern outlet.
In that vein, social intelligence is the contextualization of the expressed world around us. It’s the process of deriving thoughtful insights from large quantities of digital expression. Social intelligence grants us an opportunity to learn from unprompted sentiments about important things driving our world.
What motivates you in your work? What makes you want to keep working in social intelligence?
I like people. I am moved by human experiences and behavior, and the intersections of those things.
I am driven by knowing that we can better inform the world around us.
Social is a dynamic network of overlapping… life. I find life endlessly fascinating and worthy of exploration.
What do you think makes you successful in your work?
I am a genuinely curious person who will Socratic method a line of thought until the ultimate clarifying “why” is revealed, sometimes to the chagrin of my friends, family, and peers :) That said! Any of my more pedantic quirks are offset by a natural perceptiveness and mindful consideration for balance, peace, and most importantly, levity! Am I the embodiment of an ENTP?
I find joy in the entirety of the analysis — it should be objective, but holistic, practical, but comprehensive, insightful, but empathic. Minding that line proves beneficial in this line of work.
What makes social data special compared to other data sources?
Social data being largely unprompted, vast, autonomous, and in-real-time is what differentiates it from traditional primary research sources.
What does being a social intelligence pioneer mean in the context of your work?
At the moment, it means continuing to build up teams, methodologies, frameworks, and approaches that create momentum and ease of adoption of social research across industries. It means continuing to educate, continuing to build, and continuing to learn from peers. It means always staying adaptable with ears to the ground!
