What makes social data special compared to other data sources?
The two most important aspects of social data which makes it special are Speed + Duality.
Speed: Turnaround time for research reduces multi fold and it can also help in understanding quickly evolving “in the moment” trends
Duality: I believe that Social data is both “Qualitative” and “Quantitative”
What motivates you in your work? What makes you want to keep working in social intelligence?
The beauty of social intelligence is that it makes deeper exploratory work possible – which takes more detailed and longitudinal view. It is exciting to decode unbiased consumer conversations (social media posts) across geography and time. These endless possibilities of social intelligence are what motivates me to keep working in this field.
What’s the most interesting social listening project you’ve worked on in the last year?
There are many interesting projects that I can talk about but one which me and my team enjoyed the most is “Identifying, defining and leveraging trends”. Here, we monitor consumer conversations to catch trends and differentiate between short term and long-term trends.
I would like to thank ITC Ltd. for giving me this opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful team – who are as passionate about social listening as I am.
What do you think makes you successful in your work?
A mix of analytical and creative thinking is an essential skill to be successful in the field of social listening. Constant learning, Unlearning and relearning has also played a big role in success so far.
